Amy Rinker, MA, LMFT-S
“The quality of your relationships determine the quality of your life.” Esther Perel
Our connections are vital to our health. Relationships are living organisms that require attention, nurturing, nutrition, and more. In clinical practice, a common theme I see is when the relationship, nor the individual have been prioritized, and over time this creates disconnection so deep it drives resentment, things left unsaid, and emotional pain. Partners often feel that they don’t matter, and they feel alone. We often are not taught what is required for a relationship to thrive versus merely survive. My passion and excitement working with couples began early in my career. I pursued postgraduate training and certifications beyond licensure to strengthen my clinical work within the relational context. I work from a holistic and integrative approach that combines postmodern theory, systems theories, neuroscience, attachment theory, and sex therapy to look at the whole person(s) and system, to gain a more accurate clinical assessment of the factors impacting healthy functioning.
Rinker Therapy and Wellness PLLC grew from my passion to empowering people to invest in their health (emotional, relational, sexual). I have always been a believer in proactive and preventative healthcare that includes education, is experiential, and creates long lasting holistic changes versus a short lived symptom interruption.
If you’re feeling disconnected, not feeling valued, and/or seeking clarity to grow as an individual and strengthen your relationships, you’ve come to the right place. I work with individuals, couples, and families willing to invest in their health to improve and strengthen their relationships and improve their personal well-being. In our work together we will uncover personal blocks to propel you into more engaged and meaningful relationships. My hope is individuals feel empowered to live authentically, to turn toward, to risk vulnerability, and to learn to use their voice to get their needs met, for loving, joy, healing, and connecting.
If you decide to work with me, you will learn to tackle various concerns by using your voice to express yourself authentically, understanding deeper feelings that drive your behavior, have a deeper self-awareness, and change unhelpful ways of thinking or interacting.
I am now accepting those who are ready to take this journey to strengthen their relationships, health, and make lasting positive changes.
